Marketing Director

The volunteer Marketing Director position is a leadership role which is essential to shaping IGGAB’s public presence and strengthening communication across the organization.

Reports to: 
IGGAB Board

Time commitment: Approximately 10 hours per week, including attendance at weekly Board meetings. ​

Start Date:  ASAP

Key Responsibilities: 
  • Develop and implement a data-driven marketing and communications strategy aligned with IGGAB’s mission and goals.
  • Lead, direct, and grow the Marketing team in-line with strategy.
  • Identify key target audiences and tailor messaging accordingly.
  • Manage team of marketing volunteers, including: social media manager, public relations manager, email communications manager, webmaster. 
  • Oversee the creation of all external communications (email, social media, annual reports, etc.)
  • Oversee the organization's media relations, serving as the primary point of contact for press inquiries or preparing subject matter experts for interviews.
  • Oversee and grow the organization’s online presence, including the website and all social media channels (e.g., LinkedIn, Facebook)

Required skills and experience:
  • 5+ years in marketing, communications, or public relations, with at least 2 years in a leadership or director-level capacity, including people and/or team management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex, scientific, or sensitive information into clear and engaging public messaging.
  • Proficiency with digital marketing tools, including Canva, social media platforms, website design (including Weebly) and content management systems.​
